AN ACT to amend and reenact § 8-865 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
fees of clerks in certain cases. 8 256)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 8-365 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
follows:
§ 8-365. The following fees and costs, and no other, shall be taxed
by the clerk as and for the costs of a proceeding under §§ 8-356 to 8-364:
The statutory writ tax, in the amount required by law to be paid
on a suit for the amount of the confessed judgment;
For the clerk, ten dollars except in actions involving not more than
five hundred dollars the clerk’s fee shall be five dollars.
For the sheriff for serving each copy of the order entering judgment,
fifty cents;
For the clerk for docketing the judgment and issuing executions
thereon, the same fees allowed by law for docketing judgments rendered
in court and issuing executions thereon.
