An Act to authorize the Governor to accept conveyance to the Common-
wealth of the Old Staunton River Battle Field; and to authorize the
Board of Conservation and Development to establish and maintain
a State park thereon, and to expend certain funds for such purpose.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. §1. The Governor is hereby authorized to accept, in the name of the
Commonwealth, from such persons as are duly authorized, by law to convey
the same, a deed conveying all right, title and interest of the grantors in
and to all that certain lot or parcel of land known as the Old Staunton River
Battle Field, situated in Halifax County, Virginia; provided, such con-
veyance shall be in form approved by the Attorney General.
§ 2. The Board of Conservation and Development is hereby authorized
to establish on such lot or parcel of land, a memorial park in commemoration
of the Battle of Staunton River, to erect suitable memorials and markers
thereon, and to expend for such purposes funds appropriated for operation
of State parks, or as may otherwise be provided by law.
