AN ACT to amend and reenact § 15-10.1 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
furnishing supplies and equipment for certain officers. § 208

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
be That § 15-10.1 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 15-10.1. Supplies and equipment to be furnished certain officers.—
The board of supervisors or other governing body of each county shall, at
the expense of the county, and the city council of each city shall, at the
expense of the city, provide suitable books and stationery in addition to
supplies furnished by the State, for the use of the commissioner of the
revenue, the county treasurer, the clerk of the circuit court and the clerks
of all city courts of record, together with appropriate cases and other
furniture, for the safe and convenient keeping of all the books, documents,
and papers, in the custody of each of such officers and also official seals
for each of such officers, when the same are required by law; and also
such other office equipment and appliances, including typewriters and
adding machines, as in their judgment may be reasonably necessary for
the proper conduct of such offices; provided, however, the expense of pro-
viding such books, stationery, cases, furniture, seal, equipment, appliances,
typewriters, and adding machines for the Circuit Court of the City of
Richmond shall be borne by the Commonwealth.
2. This act shall become effective July 1, 1956.
