An Act to amend Chapter 244 of the Acts of Assembly of 1893-94, ap-
proved February 12, 1894, which provided a charter for the town of
Tappahannock, by adding a section numbered 138-a, authorizing the
acquisition of land outside the corporate limits. 8. B. 31

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That Chapter 244 of the Acts of Assembly of 1893-1894, approved
February 12, 1894, be amended by adding a section numbered 13-a as fol-
ows:

§ 13-a. To acquire by purchase, lease, gift or devise, lands within and
without the corporate limits of the Town of Tappahannock, not exceeding
five hundred acres at any one time outside the corporate limits, and may
from time to time sell or lease the same or any part thereof for all lawful
purposes.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
