An Act to amend and reenact § 15-626 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to bond elections in cities and towns. CH 568]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 15-626 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 15-626. If it shall appear from the returns that a majority of the
qualified voters voting at such election shall be against such proposed
bond issue, an order shall be entered of record accordingly and no other

election for a similar purpose shall be held within one year after such
election; provided, however, if such election was held on a date provided
by law for a general election or primary election, another election for a
stmilar purpose may be held on the day designated by law for the same
general election or primary election the next year. But if a majority of
the qualified voters at such election shall be in favor of such bond issue,
the court or judge thereof shall enter an order accordingly, a copy of
which shall be forthwith certified by the clerk of such court to the council,
or to-the board of control, and the municipal authorities shall be there-
upon fully authorized and empowered to prepare and issue and to sell or
negotiate bonds of such municipality to the amount so authorized.
