An Act to amend and reenact § 29-186, as amended, of the Code of Vir-
ginia, relating to hunting season for nonmigratory game birds

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 29-186, as amended, of the Code of Virginia be amended and
reenacted as follows:
§ 29-136. Grouse.—Open hunting season, November fifteenth-Janu-
ary thirty-first. Bag limit, four a day, sixteen a season.
Pheasant, ringnecked only.—Open hunting season, November fif-
teenth-January thirty-first. Bag Hmit, four a day, twenty a season. Pro-
vided that the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries may issue a
permit to raise or purchase pheasants which shall entitle the permittee
to release pheasants raised or purchased by him on land owned or leased
by him and such pheasants may be hunted under rules and regulations
promulgated by the Commission without regard to the season and bag
limit herein contained.
Quail.—Open hunting season, November fifteenth-January thirty-
first. Bag limit, twelve a day, one hundred fifty a season provided that the
Commission may open the season on pen-raised quail on controlled shooting
areas operated under Chapter 4 under rules and regulations as may be
promulgated by the Commission without regard to season and bag limit.
Turkey.—Open hunting season, November fifteenth-January thirty-
first. Bag limit, two a day, four a season.
Clapper rail.—Open hunting season, September first-November thir-
tieth. Bag limit, fifteen a day, no season limit.
