CHAPTER 328
An Act to authorize the city of Suffolk and county of Nansemond to join
together in the acquisition, construction, reconstruction, maintenance
and operation of a building or buildings to serve as a joint court-
house and related facilities for such city and county. [H 664]

Be it enacted by the General ‘Assembly of Virginia:
1. It shall be lawful for the city of Suffolk and the county of Nanse-
mond, on real estate now or hereafter owned or acquired, to acquire,
construct, reconstruct, maintain and operate a building or buildings to
serve the city and county jointly as a courthouse and related facilities.
Notwithstanding the provisions of § 15-686 of the Code of Virginia, such
tract of land may be less than two acres provided it is at least one acre.
The county and city may agree among themselves as to the portion of the
cost to be borne by each and the allocation of space in the buildings.
The county and city, respectively, shall have jurisdiction over such portions
of the buildings as are assigned them under such agreement.
