CHAPTER 259

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
82-834.1, relating to the amendment or correction of certificates or
other records filed and preserved by the State Registrar of Vital
Statistics.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
32-334.1 as follows:

§ 32-334.1. No certificate or other record filed and preserved under
the provisions of this chapter or any other provision of law shall be
amended or corrected in any respect otherwise than by supplementary
amendatory documents filed as a part of the record. The acceptance of
supplementary amendatory documents herein authorized shall be subject
to such regulations as the State Board of Health may prescribe to protect
the integrity of vital records.
