CHAPTER 249

An Act to amend and reenact § 1 of Chapter 125 of the Acts of Assembly
of 1954, approved March 8, 1954, pertaining to hunting bear in cer-
tain counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 1 of Chapter 125 of the Acts of Assembly of 1954, approved
March 3, 1954, be amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 1. It shall be lawful for any person to hunt, capture, take or kill
bear in the counties of Bland, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski, Smyth,
Tazewell, Washington and Wythe, beginning on the * first Monday in
November of each year, and lasting to January * fifth of each year. Dogs
may be used at all times except during the deer season. The provisions
hereof shall not operate to exempt any such person from the requirements
as to licenses and permits.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
