CHAPTER 209

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a section num-
bered 6-848.1, relating to the charge of investigation fee by banks.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a section
numbered 6-348.1 as follows:

§ 6-348.1. In addition to the charges permitted by § 6-348, a bank
may charge an investigation fee not exceeding two per centum of the
amount of the loan on loans not exceeding one thousand dollars. In the
event the combined charges for interest and investigation fee would not
amount to one dollar, the bank shall be entitled to a minimum charge of
one dollar in lieu thereof.
