An Act to amend and reenact § 58-984, as amended, of the Code of Vir-
ginia, relating to the recordation by the clerks of certain courts of
certain lists of real estate returned delinquent, and clerk’s fees
therefor.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 58-984, as amended, of the Code of Virginia be amended and
reenacted as follows:
§ 58-984. A certified copy of the list mentioned in paragraph (2)
of § 58-978 shall be transmitted by the treasurer to the clerk of the
circuit court of his county or to the clerk of the court in whose office
deeds are admitted to record in his city and the clerk shall record the
list in a book or in an approved visible card system, to be kept for the
purpose, indexing it in the name of the persons against whom the taxes
and levies on real estate are assessed. Any such visible card system hereto-
fore adopted and now in use is hereby validated. The copy shall be so trans-
mitted not later than the first day of August in each year and shall be
forthwith recorded by the clerk, as aforesaid, for which the clerk shall
be paid a fee not to exceed ten cents for each tract to be paid out of the
treasury of his county or city.
