CHAPTER 100

An Act to amend and reenact § 8 of Chapter 84 of the Acts of Assembly
of 1918, approved February 7, 1918, as amended, which chapter pro-
vided a charter and special form of government for the city of Norfolk,
and which section relates to the compensation of councilmen.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 8 of Chapter 34 of the Acts of Assembly of 1918, approved
February 7, 1918, as amended, be amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 8. Compensation of councilmen.—Each member of the council shall
receive, subject to the provisions of this charter, a salary of * twenty-four
hundred dollars * per year, except the president, whose salary shall be *
thirty-six hundred dollars * per year, such salaries to be payable in equal
monthly installments.
2. This act shall be in effect on and after September one, nineteen
hundred fifty-six.
