An Act to amend the Code of Virginia, by adding thereto a section num-
bered 54-88.1, so as to permit the enjoining of running, capping,
soliciting and maintenance.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a section
numbered 54-83.1, as follows:
§ 54-83.1. The Commonwealth’s attorney, or any person, firm or
corporation against whom any claim for damage to property or damages
for personal injuries or for death resulting therefrom, is or has been
asserted, may maintain a suit in equity against any person who has
solicited employment for himself or has induced another to solicit or
encourage his employment, or against any person, firm, partnership or
association which has acted for another in the capacity of a runner or
capper or which has been stirring up litigation in such a way as to consti-
tute maintenance whether such solicitation was successful or not, to enjoin
and permanently restrain such person, his agents, representatives and
principals from soliciting any such claims against any person, firm or
corporation subsequent to the date of the injunction.
