An Act to amend and reenact § 24-120 of the Code of Virginia, as amended,
relating to the treasurer’s list of persons who have paid poll taxes, so
as to provide for the designation thereon of tribal Indians. § 368)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 24-120 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, be amended and
reenacted as follows:
§ 24-120. The treasurer of each county and city shall, at least five
ths before the second Tuesday in June in each year in which a regular
» election is to be held in such county or city, and at least one hundred
sixty-five days before each regular election in November, file with the
‘ of the circuit court of his county or the corporation court of his city
t of all persons in his county or city who have paid not later than six
ths prior to each of such dates the State poll taxes required by the
stitution of this State during three years next preceding that in which
election is to be held, which list shall state the white and colored per-
separately, and shall be verified by the oath of the treasurer. The
surer shall, in such list, designate as a tribal Indian any person who
ests to be so designated and who shall have furnished the treasurer
,an affidavit, made by the Chief of any Indian tribe existing in this
