An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
82-120.1, to amend and reenact 8§ 32-125 and 32-129 as amended,
of the Code of Virginia, and to repeal §§ 32-123 and 32-124 as
amended, of the Code of Virginia, relating generally to bedding
and upholstered furniture and more specifically to licensing of manu-
facturers of bedding and upholstered furniture, bedding renovators
and reupholsterers; bedding stamps and penalties for violations of
the article.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
32-120.1, and that §§ 32-125 and 32-129 as amended, of the Code of Vir-
ginia be amended and reenacted as follows:
§ $2-120.1. Every person engaged in the manufacturing of bedding
and upholstered furniture or renovating or reupholestering any article
shall first obtain a numbered license from the Commissioner. Such license
shall expire one year from date of issue. The Commissioner may revoke
or suspend any such license issued for any violation of the provisions
of this article. The annual fees imposed for licenses issued pursuant to
this article shall be as follows:
(1) Manufacturers of bedding—forty dollars.
(2) Manufacturers of upholstered furniture—forty dollars.
(3) Bedding renovators—ten dollars.
(4) Reupholsterers—ten dollars.
§ 32-125. It shall be unlawful to use any false or misleading state-
ment, term or designation on any such tag or to remove, deface or alter,
or to attempt to remove, deface or alter such tag or the statement of
filling materials made thereon *.
§ 32-129. Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter,
or any rule or regulation of the State Board of Health adopted here-
under, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof,
shall be fined not less than twenty-five nor more than one hundred dollars
for each offense. Each remaking, renovating, selling, offering for sale,
delivering, consigning, or possessing with intent to sell, deliver or con-
sign, any mattress, pillow, bolster, featherbed, article of upholstered
furniture or comfortable, contrary to this chapter, shall be a separate
offense. *

pealed.
