CHAPTER 651

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a section num-
bered 4-78.1, prohibiting the drinking or possession of alcoholic bev-
erages in public schools or on school grounds and providing a penalty
for violations.

’ Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a section
numbered 4-78.1 as follows:

§ 4-78.1. If any person, in any public free school or on any public
free school grounds, during school hours or school or student activities,
shall take a drink of any alcoholic beverage or have in his possession any
alcoholic beverage, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and fined not less
than ten nor more than one hundred dollars.
