An Act to amend and reenact § 8-487 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to interrogatories and answers to be returned to court.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 8-487 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 8-437. The commissioner or trial justice shall return the inter-
rogatories and answers filed with him, and a report of the proceedings
under the two preceding sections, to the court in which the judgment
is, or if the judgment be of a trial justice who is a civil justice, a civil
and police justice, a police justice or a trial justice appointed under the
provisions of Chapter 2 of Title 16, to the circuit court of the county or
corporation court of the city for which such trial justice has been ap-
pointed. Provided that if only money, securities, or other personal prop-
erty is involved in any such proceeding, no such return or report of the
proceedings shall be made by any commissioner or trial justice on a
summons issued under § 8-435 upon a writ of fieri facias issued by a
justice or by the clerk of a court of record unless requested to do so by
ther of the parties.
