CHAPTER 620
An Act to amend and reenact § 8-899 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to issuance by clerk of writ of fiert facias, and to repeal § 8-409 of
the Code of Virginia, relating to issuance of executions during terms
of court.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 8-399 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 8-399. On a judgment for money it shall be the duty of the clerk
of the court in which such judgment was rendered to issue a writ of
fieri facias * at the expiration of twenty-one days from the date of the
entry of the judgment * and place the same in the hands of the proper
officer of such court to be executed and take his receipt therefor unless
he be otherwise directed by writing by the beneficiary of such judgment,
his agent or attorney. For good cause the court may order an execution
to issue on judgments and decrees at an earlier period.
2. § 8-409 of the Code of Virginia is repealed.
