An Act to amend and reenact § 8-482 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to lens on property not capable of being levied on. rH 850]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 8-482 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 8-482. As against a person making a payment to the judgment
debtor, the lien referred to in the preceding section shall not affect him,
unless and until he be given written notice thereof setting forth (1) the
name of the person against whom obtained, (2) by whom obtained, (3)
the amount and costs of the judgment, (4) the date recovered, (5) the
date of the issuance or renewal of execution thereon, (6) the return day
of execution, and (7) the date of placing of the execution in the hands
of the officer, and unless such notice shall be personally signed by the
plaintiff or his attorney and shall have been duly served upon * the
person making payment and the judgment debtor by an officer authorized
to serve civil process.
