CHAPTER 54
An Act to authorize the city of Norfolk to sell and convey or lease
certain city owned lands, with the improvements thereon, known as
the City Market and the Old Municipal Building.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The city of Norfolk is hereby authorized and empowered, whenever
in the judgment of its Council it is to the interest of the city so to do,
to sell and convey, or lease, in the manner prescribed by law, for such
consideration and on such terms and conditions as said Council shall deem
proper, the city owned lands, with the improvements thereon, situated
in the city of Norfolk, and known as the City Market and the Old
Municipal Building, or either of them, or any part thereof, said properties

in their entireties being more particularly described as bounded on the
south by City Hall Avenue, on the east by Brewer Street, on the north
by Market Street, and on the west by Monticello Avenue.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
