CHAPTER 51
An Act to authorize the governing body of the city of Portsmouth to sell
and convey certain property of the city.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The governing body of the city of Portsmouth is authorized to sell
and convey, upon such terms and conditions as it deems proper, its Market
Building and the abandoned fire houses and lots none of which are re-
quired for municipal purposes. The council may make such disposition
of the proceeds from such sale as it deems proper.
An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
