An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
56-54.1, prohibiting the creation of turnpike corporations and the
exercise of certain powers heretofore conferred by law on such cor-

porations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
56-54.1, as follows:

§ 56-54.1. Notwithstanding the provisions of §§ 56-47 through
56-54, no turnpike corporation shall hereafter be created. No such cor-
poration heretofore created shall exercise the powers conferred by this
chapter upon turnpike corporations.
