CHAPTER 442

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
14-155.8, relating to compensation of clerks of courts of record in
certain cities.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1 ea the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered

§ 14-155.8. Notwithstanding provisions of § 14-155 and subject to
provisions of §§ 14-155.2 and 14-155.7, the total annual compensation of
clerks of courts of record of any city having a population of more than
thirty-five thousand and sixty but less than forty thousand according to
the last preceding decennial census but whose population has increased
due to annexation since nineteen hundred and fifty, shall not exceed seven
thousand dollars.
