An Act to authorize and direct the State Highway Commissioner of Vir-
ginia to convey approximately eight acres of land, formerly used as a
Residency Headquarters, to the cities of Hampton, Newport News, and
Warwick jointly; reserving the right to the Department of State Police
to operate and maintain its radio tower located on said premises. 2431

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
Whereas, the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Highways
owns a certain parcel of land containing approximately eight acres, situated
in the former county of Elizabeth City now within the corporate limits of
the city of Hampton, and;
Whereas, the said parcel is used as a location for a radio tower owned
and operated by the Department of State Police and was formerly used as
a site for a Residency Headquarters by the Department of Highways, and;
Whereas, the said parcel is no longer used as a Residency Headquarters
nor is it otherwise necessary for highway purposes, and;
Whereas, the cities of Hampton, Newport News, and Warwick are
desirous of having the said parcel conveyed to them as joint owners; now,
therefore,
1. Be it enacted that the State Highway Commissioner of Virginia be,
and hereby is, authorized and directed to convey the said parcel of land
to the cities of Hampton, Newport News, and Warwick with the provision
that the right to maintain and operate the radio tower situated thereon
be reserved to the Department of State Police.
