An Act to amend and reenact § 54-656 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to frostproof water closets.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

ae That § 54-656 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:

§ 54-656. Frostproof closets may be installed only in compart-
ments which have no direct connection with a building used for human
habitation or occupancy. The soil pipe between the hopper and the trap
shall be three inches in diameter and shall be of lead, or cast iron enam-
eled on the inside. Provided, however, that the governing body of any
city may, by ordinance, further regulate or prohibit the construction,
maintenance, operation and use of frostproof closets.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
