CHAPTER 365

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section
numbered 14-5.6, in order to regulate the purchase and transfer of
motor vehicles as State property.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a new
section numbered 14-5.6, as follows:

§ 14-5.6. No passenger type automobile shall be purchased by the
State or any officer or employee on behalf of the State without the written
approval of the Governor first obtained. The Governor shall have
authority to transfer surplus motor vehicles among the departments,
institutions and agencies, and the Director of the Department of Accounts
and Purchases shall determine the value of such surplus equipment for
the purpose of maintaining the financial accounts of the departments,
agencies and institutions affected by such transfers.
