CHAPTER 269

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
68-66.1, relating to funds received by local boards of public welfare
from private sources.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
63-66.1, as follows:

§ 63-66.1. The local boards are authorized to receive and disburse
funds derived from private sources in the form of gifts, contributions,
bequests or legacies for the purpose of aiding needy persons within their
respective counties or cities. Eligibility for aid from these sources need
not be limited to requirements established for the public assistance pro-
grams in this State. All such funds as may be received from such sources
shall be deposited in the treasuries of the respective counties and cities
to the credit of the local boards and disbursed as authorized by such
local boards.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
