CHAPTER 223

An Act to empower the boards of supervisors of certain counties to enact
ordinances regulating the shooting of firearms in certain areas of the

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the board of supervisors in any county adjoining a city in this
State having a population in excess of two hundred and twenty thou-
sand may, by ordinance adopted in the manner prescribed by § 15-8 of
the Code of Virginia, provide against the shooting of firearms in any
areas of the county which are in the opinion of the board so heavily
populated as to make such conduct dangerous to the inhabitants thereof.
