An Act to authorize and empower the Commission of Fisheries to grant
to Virginia Electric and Power Company a certain easement of right
of way across the James River between Isle of Wight County and
city of Warwick.

1. § 1. The Commission of Fisheries is hereby authorized and em-
powered to grant and convey unto Virginia Electric and Power Company,
its successors and assigns, upon such terms and conditions as the Com-
mission shall deem proper, a permanent easement of right of way to
construct, operate, maintain and remove a combination wood pole and
steel tower electric transmission line, with conductors and appurtenances,
across the James River, beginning at the mean low water mark on the
southerly or Isle of Wight County side of the James River, at a point
approximately three hundred seventy-five feet west of the center line of
the James River Bridge, and extending northwardly at varying lesser
distances from the westerly side of the bridge to the first of four towers
on the James River Bridge, and thence continuing from the fourth tower
on the bridge at distances one hundred feet or less from the westerly
side of the bridge to the mean low water mark on the northerly or city
of Warwick side of the James River. The instrument so granting and
conveying the easement of right of way shall be signed and executed in
manner and form approved by the attorney for the Commission.
§ 2. The authority granted by § 1 of this act shall be exercised
only upon the approval of the Governor first obtained in writing.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
