An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
58-895.1, relating to the appointment of local boards of equalization
in cities of the first class incorporated since January 1, 1958 4941

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
58-895.1, as follows:
§ 58-895.1. The corporation or hustings court of each city of the
first class incorporated since January one, nineteen hundred fifty-two, or,
if any such city has no corporation or hustings court then the circuit
court thereof or the judge of any such court in vacation, may, four years
from the date of the last general reassessment of real estate and every
fourth year thereafter, appoint for such city a board of equalization of
real estate assessments; provided, however, that such court, or judge
thereof in vacation, shall have been so requested pursuant to a resolution
of the governing body of such city adopted upon a recorded vote of the
majority of its members.
An Act to amend and reenact Chapter 822 of the Acts of Assembly of
1986, approved March 27, 1986, which authorized the Rector and
Visitors of the University of Virginia to sell and convey certain
lands

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia: |
1. That Chapter 322 of the Acts of Assembly of 1936, approved March
27, 1936, be amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 1. The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia, with
the approval of the Governor first obtained, * are hereby authorized
to sell and convey any and all real estate to which it has acquired title
by gift, * devise or purchase since January first, nineteen hundred, or
which may hereafter be conveyed or devised to it. The proceeds
derived from any such sale or sales shall be held by said The Rector
and Visitors of the University of Virginia upon the identical trusts,
and subject to the same uses, limitations and conditions, if any, that
are expressed in the original deed or will under which its title was
derived, or if there be no such trusts, uses, limitations or conditions
expressed in such original deed or will, then said funds shall be applied
by The Rector and Board of Visitors of the University to such purposes
as said board may deem best for the University.
