[ ]
, Approved March 3, 1954
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. §1. Notwithstanding any provisions of law to the contrary, the open
season for hunting and killing deer in Caroline County shall be the same
as the general open hunting season east of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
§ 2. The bag limit shall be one deer a day or two a season, one of
which may be a doe; provided, however, after careful study of deer popu-
lations in relation to food supply and the ratio of bucks to does, the Com-
mission of Game and Inland Fisheries may, when deemed for the best
interest to the deer herd, suspend the operation of this act for such time
as may be necessary to increase the herd in said county.
