CHAPTER 112
An Act to authorize the State Board of Education to convey certain prop-
erty of Madison College and to authorize the expenditure of certain
proceeds therefrom.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The State Board of Education, with the approval of the Governor
in writing, is authorized to sell or exchange or both, upon such terms and
conditions as the State Board of Education deems proper, a portion or por-
tions of the Newman Farm property, owned by Madison College, lying ad-
jacent to and east of the Madison College campus and as described in the
deed recorded October 1, 1953 in Deed Book No. 235, page 342, in the Rock-
ingham County Clerk’s Office at Harrisonburg, Virginia. The proceeds
realized from such sale or exchange, with the approval of the State Board
of Education and the Governor in writing, may be used by Madison College
for the development of recreational areas and playing fields on property
owned by the college, to purchase other property, or for other capital im-
provements. The Attorney General shall approve all such deeds as to form.
