CHAPTER 15
An Act to amend Chapter 64 of the Acts of Assembly of 1922, approved
February 25, 1922, which provided a charter for the city of Suffolk,
by adding a section numbered 2914, providing for an additional
substitute civil and police justice.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That Chapter 64 of the Acts of Assembly of 1922, approved February
25, 1922, be amended by adding a section numbered 2914 as follows:
§ 2914. In addition to the substitute civil and police justice pro-
vided for by paragraph (e) of § 29 of this charter the council may ap-
point an assistant substitute civil and police justice who shall have the
same qualifications and shall during the time he performs the duties of
the office of civil and police justice exercise the same powers, perform
the same duties and receive the same compensation as the substitute civil
and police justice. Such assistant substitute civil and police justice shall
serve only at such times as he shall be designated by the substitute civil
and police justice to act in his place and stead.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
