An Act to authorize the State Board of Education to grant, subject to
certain conditions, easements upon, over, across or under lands of
certain schools and institutions; to provide for the disposition of cer-
tain funds; and to ratify and confirm such grants heretofore 1$ 54)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The State Board of Education is authorized, subject to the
approval of the Governor in writing first obtained, to convey upon such
terms and conditions and for such consideration as it deems proper ease-
ments upon, over, across or under the property of any school or educa-
tional institution of which it serves as the governing body, to any public
utility or public service company, for the purpose of erecting and main-
taining power lines, telephone lines, or water or gas lines or mains; pro-
vided, that any deed or other conveyance executed hereunder shall be in
form approved by the Attorney General; and provided, further, that any
funds derived by the Board in consideration of the granting of any such
easement shall be paid into the general fund of the State treasury.
§ 2. Any such grant heretofore made by the Board subject to the
approval of the General Assembly, is hereby ratified and confirmed.
