CHAPTER 635
An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
58-776.5, relating to the reassessment of real estate in certain cities
so as to permit a general reassesment in certain years.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
§ 58-776.5 as follows:
§ 58-776.5. The governing body of any city having a population in
excess of five thousand two hundred fifty and not in excess of five thousand
nine hundred, as shown by the last United States official census may by
ordinance provide for a general reassessment of real estate therein in the
year nineteen hundred fifty-two, and shall have a reassessment in the year
nineteen hundred fifty-four and every four years thereafter in accordance
with the general law as to quadrennial reassessments.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
