An Act to define the correct boundaries of territory annexed to the city
of Fredericksburg by order of the Circuit Court of Spotsylvania
County entered December 21, 1950, in the case of city of Fredericks-
burg v. county of Spotsylvania.

Whereas, by order entered by a three Judge Court in the Circuit Court
of Spotsylvania County, Virginia, on December 21, 1950, in the case of
city of Fredericksburg v. county of Spotsylvania, three parcels of real
estate in Spotsylvania County described therein as Parcels A, B and C
were annexed to the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and
Whereas, by said order the Court directed that a map of the city of
Fredericksburg and the territory to be annexed, known as the Russell map,
introduced in evidence, setting forth the boundaries of the territory
annexed, be filed in the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Spotsylvania
County and in the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Fredericksburg,
along with certified copy of all orders and proceedings as provided by
8 15-139 of the Code of Virginia of 1950; and
Whereas, after the adjournment sine die of said three Judge Court
a slight discrepancy between the description of the parcels contained in
said order and the said map was discovered and the city being desirous
of correcting the said description so as to conform to the said map as
follows: now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The corporate limits and boundaries of the city of Fredericksburg,
Virginia, shall be as described in the charter of the city, and, from and
after December 31, 1950, shall include the territory hereinafter described
as Parcels ‘‘A’’, ““B’’, and ‘‘C”’:

from Spotsylvania County, Effective at Midnight December 31, 1950.
Parcel “A”
Beginning at a point in the boundary of the city of Fredericksburg
formed by the intersection of the southeast boundary of Amaret Street
extended and the low water mark of the Rappahannock River, thence up
stream with said low-water mark the following eleven courses and dis-
tances:—South eighty-two degrees forty-seven minutes and fifty-five
seconds West, nine and three-tenths feet; North sixty-two degrees forty
minutes and thirty-five seconds West, four hundred fifty-five and nine-
tenths feet; North eighty-one degrees twenty-nine minutes and twenty
seconds West, five hundred and forty-seven feet; North fifty-three degrees
fifty-three minutes and twenty seconds West, one hundred and thirty-seven
feet; North eighty-two degrees forty-two minutes and twenty seconds
West, one hundred and ninety-six feet; South eighty-eight degrees fifty-
five minutes and forty seconds West, one hundred eighty-two and two-
tenths feet; South eighty-five degrees fifty-nine minutes and forty seconds
West, three hundred and thirty-eight feet; South fifty-two degrees six
minutes and forty seconds West, one hundred eighty-six and seven-tenths
feet; South thirty-seven degrees eighteen minutes and forty seconds West,
three hundred ninety-six and four-tenths feet; South seventeen degrees
twenty-six minutes and forty seconds West, three hundred and forty-seven
feet; South forty-one degrees and forty-six minutes West, seven hundred
sixty-eight and nine-tenths feet; thence South thirty degrees and forty-
seven minutes West, one hundred and five feet to the south boundary of
highway No. 639; thence along the south boundary of said highway the
following six courses and distances:—South eighty degrees and thirty
minutes West, two hundred and six feet; South eighty-nine degrees and
thirty minutes West, two hundred and thirty feet; North eighty-one
degrees West, two hundred and sixty-three feet; North sixty-nine degrees
and six minutes West, three hundred forty-eight and one-tenth feet; North
eighty-one degrees West, two hundred and thirty-eight feet; North eighty-
seven degrees and twenty-six minutes West, three hundred and fifty-five
feet, to the north boundary of the Virginia Electric and Power Company’s
canal property; thence along said property line the following seventeen
courses and distances :—South thirty-four degrees no minutes and forty
seconds East, three hundred fourteen and three-tenths feet; South thirty-
seven degrees nine minutes and forty seconds East, three hundred and
five and one-tenth feet ; South forty-three degrees thirty minutes and forty
seconds East, one hundred fifteen and one-tenth feet; South forty-eight
degrees eleven minutes and forty seconds East, one hundred sixty-seven
and four-tenths feet; South fifty-one degrees twenty-five minutes and
forty seconds East, four hundred fifteen and two-tenths feet; South sixty-
two degrees eleven minutes and forty seconds East, two hundred twenty-
three and two-tenths feet; South seventy-seven degrees no minutes and
forty seconds East, seventy-four and four-tenths feet; South eighty-four
degrees fifty-eight minutes and forty seconds East, three hundred and one

hundred fifty-seven and six-tenths feet; South thirty-three degrees twenty-
two minutes and forty seconds East, one hundred thirty-nine and six-
tenths feet; South thirty-one degrees forty-seven minutes and forty
seconds Fast, one hundred forty-six and three-tenths feet; South thirteen
degrees thirty-two minutes and forty seconds East, eighty-two and two-
tenths feet to the east boundary line of U.S. Alternate Highway Route
One; thence along said east boundary the following two courses and
distances :—South twenty-seven degrees sixteen minutes and fifty seconds
West, seventeen hundred ninety-five and two-tenths feet; South twenty-
four degrees and fifty-four minutes West, two hundred thirty-nine and
two-tenths feet to the corporate boundary of the City of Fredericksburg;
thence with said corporate boundary the five following courses and dis-
tances :—North fifty degrees thirteen minutes and thirty-five seconds East,
thirty-one hundred sixty-two and three-tenths feet to the south boundary
of Fall Hill Avenue; North forty-six degrees and forty-four minutes West,
seven hundred seventy-six and one-tenth feet; North sixty degrees eleven
minutes and fifty seconds West, five hundred and one and seven-tenths
feet to the east boundary of U. S. Alternate Route One; North twenty-
seven degrees sixteen minutes and fifty seconds East, four hundred sixty-
six and two-tenths feet to the east boundary of Amaret Street; and North
thirty-nine degrees no minutes and thirty seconds East, seventeen hundred
seventy-one and six-tenths feet, to the point of beginning, containing
176. acres.
Parcel “B”
Beginning at a point in the corporate boundary of the city of Fred-
ericksburg, formed by the intersection of northeast boundary of Stafford
Avenue and the east boundary of U. S. Alternate Highway Route One,
thence with the corporate boundary of the city the following two courses
and distances :—South twenty-nine degrees no minutes and ten seconds
East, twenty-six hundred and twenty-three feet along Stafford Avenue to
William Street; South fifty-three degrees forty-three minutes and thirty-
five seconds West, four hundred fifty-six and seven-tenths feet in William
Street; thence along State Highway Route 3 the following two courses and
distances :—North eighty-eight degrees and twenty-three minutes West,
four hundred and ten and seven-tenths feet; North eighty-five degrees and
fifty-eight minutes West, eleven hundred and nine and six-tenths feet to
the east boundary of U. S. Alternate Highway Route One; thence with
said east boundary the following thirteen courses and distances :—North
six degrees and fifty-six minutes East, two hundred and sixty feet; South
eighty-three degrees and four minutes East, fifty feet; North six degrees
and fifty-six minutes East, one hundred ninety-eight and five-tenths feet;
North thirty degrees and twenty-seven minutes East, sixty-five feet; North
six degrees and forty-four minutes East, one hundred and fifty-two feet;
North sixteen degrees eleven minutes and fifty seconds East, three
hundred and fifty feet; North thirteen degrees and twenty minutes East,
two hundred and three-tenths feet; North sixteen degrees and forty-seven
minutes East, two hundred feet; North eight degrees and forty-seven
minutes East, one hundred and five and nine-tenths feet; North fifteen
degrees and fourteen minutes East, two hundred and ninety-five feet;
North seventeen degrees and thirty-seven minutes East, two hundred
forty-two and one-tenth feet; North sixteen degrees eleven minutes and
fifty seconds East, three hundred and fifty-eight feet; North four degrees
and twenty-eight minutes West, one hundred thirty-two and nine-tenths
feet, to the point of beginning, containing 57.0484 acres.
Parcel ‘C”
Beginning at a point in the corporate boundary of the city of Fred-
ericksburg where said corporate boundary leaves the east right of way
boundary of U. S. Highway Route One, thence with the corperate boundary
South thirty-five degrees twenty-five minutes and twenty-five seconds
East, one hundred fifteen and eight-tenths feet to the northwest right of
way boundary of the Virginia Central Railway Company, thence with
said railway right of way boundary the following three courses and dis-
tances :—Southwardly on the are of a curve having a radius of two
thousand and eighty-four feet a distance of four hundred and sixty feet;
thence South eighty-seven degrees and thirty-one minutes West, one
hundred and three feet; South seventy degrees and thirty-one minutes
West, eighty-nine feet, to the center of Hazel Run; thence with the center
of Hazel Run North thirty-nine degrees West, one hundred and thirty feet
to the south right of way boundary of U. S. Highway Route One; thence
with said south right of way boundary the following two courses and
distances:—North eighty-four degrees and thirty-seven minutes East,
four hundred fourteen and one-tenth feet; thence on the arc of a curve
to the left and with a central angle of seventy-six degrees and a radius
of two hundred twenty-one and one-tenth feet, a distance of two hundred
ninety and two-tenths feet to the point of beginning, containing 1.103
acres.
