CHAPTER 598
An Act to validate certain sales of real estate made in the course of
chancery suits prior to September 1, 1951, under certain circum-
stances despite certain procedural defects.Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. Every sale of real estate made prior to September one, nineteen hun-
dred fifty-one, in a chancery suit brought and conducted under the provi-
sions of §§ 58-1101 through 58-1106 or §§ 58-1014 through 58-1020 of the
Code of Virginia, and in which suit a deed was executed and delivered to
the purchaser or purchasers of such real estate by a commissioner ap-
pointed by the court for such purposes shall be valid and have full force and
effect even though the order of reference was to a commissioner in chancery
or special master who was the attorney employed to subject the real
estate to the lien of any taxes; provided, all the proceedings in the suit
were otherwise regularly conducted in accordance with the provisions of
law under which the same was brought and all necessary persons were
made parties thereto.
