CHAPTER 420

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
§ 68-859.1, providing indices of adoptions to be prepared by court
clerks and to whom such indices shall be available. .

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
§ 63-359.1, as follows:

§ 63-359.1. The clerk of any court having jurisdiction in adoption cases
is empowered, with the approval of the judge of said court entered of
record, to establish and maintain a separate index of adoption cases
which shall not be exposed to public view but which shall be made available
by such clerk to persons and attorneys having an interest in the
subject matter and to welfare officials and court officials and to such other
persons as the court shall direct in specific cases.
