An Act to amend and reenact § 56-382 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
the establishment and discontinuance of telegraph stations. '$ 276)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
he That § 56-382 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 56-382.—Telegraph stations to be established.—* Railroads operat-
ing in this State shall, for the safe operation of trains, establish telegraph
stations at such points along the lines of such railroads as shall, after
hearing, be designated by the State Corporation Commission. * * * Any
telegraph station now being operated or which may hereafter be operated,
shall not be discontinued unless thirty days’ written notice is given to the
Commission, and to the public by a notice conspicuously placed at such
station. The Commission upon its own motion or upon complaint may
require the telegraph office to be continued until after hearing before the
Commission which shall determine whether or not such telegraph service
is needed for the safe operation of trains.
Nothing herein shall be construed as in any way affecting the laws,
rules and regulations governing interstate commerce.
