CHAPTER 394
An Act to authorize the Board of Visitors and the Rector and Visitors of
the University of Virginia to transfer and convey all right, title and
anterest of the Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia,
at Fredericksburg, in and to a certain parcel of land located in Spot-
sylvania County, comprising a portion of the property of Mary Wash-
ington College of the University of Virginia, to the State Highway
Commission for the location, construction and maintenance of a section
of State Highway Route 3, designated by the State Department of
Highways as Project 3388-02.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Board of Visitors and the Rector and Visitors of the Univer-
sity of Virginia be and are hereby authorized, for such consideration or
upon such other terms and conditions as may be deemed proper, to
execute a deed transferring and conveying to the State Highway Commis-
sion for the uses of State Highway Route 3 and Project 3388-02 all right,
title and interest of Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia
in and to that certain parcel of land located in Spotsylvania County, com-
prising a portion of the property of Mary Washington College of the Uni-
versity of Virginia, at Fredericksburg, and lying on the south side of,
along and adjacent to the center line of the existing highway right of way,
and extending along the entire frontage of the property of Mary Washing-
ton College of the University of Virginia, a distance of approximately 592
feet from the property now or formerly owned by Holloway on the east, to
the existing highway right of way and former property of the American
Telephone and Telegraph Company or the Chesapeake and Potomac Tele-
phone Company of Virginia on the west, and being of widths measured
southwardly from said center line varying from a minimum of 37 feet to
a maximum of 62 feet as shown on sheets 4 and 5 of the survey and plans
for Project 3388-02 on file in the Center Office of the State Department of
Highways, at Richmond, and containing 0.66 acre, more or less.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
