CHAPTER 357
An Act to provide for the liability of persons furnishing certain types of
parking accommodations as to motor vehicles parked therein and
property left in such vehicles.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. No action shall lie or proceeding be brought against any person,
firm or corporation conducting any business and maintaining a parking lot,
at which free parking accommodations are provided for customers or
employees of such business, for any loss sustained by any person by reason
of the theft of or damages done to any motor vehicle parked in such park-
ing lot by any person other than an employee or by reason of the theft or
loss of any personal property left in any such motor vehicle.
§ 2. As used in this act, “free parking accommodations’ means
parking accommodations for which no specific charge is made and the

Nothing in this act shall relieve any person of liability resulting
from his own wrongdoing.
