CHAPTER 335

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a section num-
bered § 15-487.1, relating to residences of certain deputy clerks for
certain cities and counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a section
numbered § 15-487.1, as follows:

§ 15-487.1. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding section, in
any city having a population of not more than thirty-five thousand sixty
but not less than thirty thousand, and in any county having a population
of more than fifteen thousand two hundred but less than fifteen thousand
four hundred, and in any county having a population of more than nine-
teen thousand and less than twenty thousand, the clerk may select and ap-
point a deputy clerk from any county adjoining such city or county, as the
case may be.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
