The Rector and Visitors of the University in Spotsylvania County
Virginia.Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The Board of Visitors and The Rector and Visitors of the University of
Virginia be, and it is hereby, authorized and empowered to grant and
convey unto Virginia Electric and Power Company, its successors and
assigns, an easement of right of way for the construction, operation, and
maintenance of one or more pole and/or power lines, for the purpose
of transmitting electricity and supporting telephone wires over, upon, and
across a portion of the “Brompton” property in Courtland District of
spotslvania County, Virginia, now owned by The Rector and Visitors of
the University of Virginia; the said easement is to be in and over a strip
of land seventy-five feet in width lying adjacent and parallel to an existing
right of way of Virginia Electric and Power Company, and is to be con-
veyed in exchange for such consideration and upon such terms and condi-
tions as may be agreed to by the Board of Visitors and said Company.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
