An Act to amend and reenact § 28-110 of the Code of Virginia, relating

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 23-110 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
follows:

§ 23-110. The Governor and the board of visitors and faculty of the
Institute may confer a degree upon any graduate found qualified to receive
it, after examination upon such of the branches of the arts and sciences
and of literature taught at the Institute as the board may deem requisite.
The board may also, in its discretion, confer * honorary degrees or
diplomas of distinguished merit *.
