Act to amend and reenact § 1 of Chapter 878 of the Acts of Assembly
of 1940, approved April 1, 1940, which was continued in effect by
§ 15-757 of the Code of Virginia, relating to water supply systems
in certain counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 1 of Chapter 373 of the Acts of Assembly of 1940, approved
April 1, 1940, which was continued in effect by § 15-757 of the Code of
Virginia, be amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 1. The board of supervisors of any county in this State which has
a population of less than * forty-five thousand but not less than forty-two
thousand inhabitants * according to the last preceding United States
census, shall be, and it hereby is, authorized and empowered to construct,
reconstruct, maintain, alter, improve, add to and operate water supply
systems in said county.
