An Act to amend and reenact § 54-1 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
the filing of copies of certain examinations, and to provide for transfer
of certain files.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. , That § 54-1 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 54-1. Copies of examinations filed by State agencies.—Every State
agency authorized at any time to conduct examinations of applicants for
admission to practice or pursue any profession, vocation, trade, calling
or art shall file a copy of each examination within a period of ten days
after it is given with the Secretary of the Commonwealth where it shall
be lodged and preserved for a period of at least one year as a public
record accessible to any person desiring to examine it during usual busi-
ness hours; provided, however, that if the same examination is also given
outside of the State of Virginia, a copy of such examination need not be
filed until ten days after the date on which it was last given anywhere.
After the expiration of one year from the time of the filing of each copy,
the Secretary of the Commonwealth may withdraw and destroy it.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
