CHAPTER 182

An Act to amend and reenact § 9.14 of Chap 116 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1948, providing a new charter for the city of
Richmond, as amended and reenacted by Chap 251 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 1950, relating to the residence of officers
and employees of the city.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 9.14 of Chap 116 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
1948, as amended by Chap 251 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1950, be and is hereby amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 9.14. Residence of Employees.—*Except as otherwise provided in
this charter, the council shall have the power to provide by ordinance
from time to time whether the regular, permanent officers and employees
of the city in both the classified and unclassified services, or any of them,
shall reside within the city during their continuance in such office or
employment.
