An Act to amend and reenact § 3-1 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
composition and terms of the Board of Agriculture and Immigration.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

_ That § 3-1 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows: .

§ 3-1. The Department of Agriculture and Immigration, in this title
sometimes referred to as the Department, shall be under the management
and control of the Board of Agriculture and Immigration, in this title
sometimes referred to as the Board, composed of one member from each
congressiona! district, who shall be a practical farmer, appointed by the
Governor for a term of four years, and confirmed by the Senate. * The
president of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, shall be ex officio a
member of the Board. All vacancies in the membership of the Board shall
be filled by the Governor for the unexpired term.
