An Act to authorize the State treasurer to dispose of certain jewelry; to
prescribe the procedure therein; and to appropriate the proceeds
therefrom.
[H 340]
Approved February 28, 1952
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The State Treasurer is authorized to sell and dispose of certain
jewelry now held in the State treasury. Such sale may be made after
the same has been appraised by at least two qualified persons. The sale,
after such appraisal, may be made either to the highest bidder on com-
petitive bids at private sale or at public auction after notice has been
published in a newspaper of general circulation in the city of Richmond
setting forth the time and place of sale and the appraised value of the
jewelry. Such sale shall convey all right, title and interest of the State
in and to such property to the purchaser thereof.
2. The proceeds of sale shall be deposited in the State treasury to the
account of the fund in which such jewelry was held.
