An Act to amend and reenact § 2-80 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
increases given Veterans in ratings on certain examinations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
ta That § 2-80 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 2-80. In the event a person who has served in the armed forces
of the United States in World War 1 or * subsequent to December sixth,
nineteen hundred forty-one having a discharge not dishonorable is an
applicant for a position in the State service which is filled after an exam-
ination given by the Merit System Council under the merit system plan
applicable to personnel employed by the Unemployment Compensation
Commission, the State and local Boards of Public Welfare, the State
Board of Health, and the Virginia Commission for the Blind, or any other
State agency whose employees are so examined, the grade or rating of
the applicant on such examination shall be increased by five per centum;
and if such applicant shall have a service connected disability rating
fixed by the United States Veterans Administration, his grade or rating
shall be increased by ten per centum. Such additions shall only be made
if any such applicant passes such examination.
